The betterplace donation form right in WordPress

The plugin integrates the official betterplace.org donation form via a Gutenberg block or shortcode. The project ID, accent color, default amount, and donation interval can be configured without writing any code.

Block or Shortcode

A dedicated Betterplace block is available in the Block Editor. For classic editors, widgets, and special layouts, you can use the shortcode instead: [betterplace_donation] be used.

Prerequisites

  • WordPress 6.0 or later
  • PHP 7.4 or later
  • A project, a fundraiser, or an organization on betterplace.org

Data and Updates

The plugin does not process donation data itself. The form is provided by betterplace.org. For automatic updates, the plugin periodically checks isla-stud.io for the latest version.

The plugin is free and licensed under GPL 2.0 or later. It is not published by betterplace.org or gut.org gAG.

  • Follow-up to v0.1.4: The mobile media query is now actually working. In v0.1.4, it said width: inline on the wrapper, which applies the media query from the <style>-The block was overridden by CSS specificity, thereby preventing the smartphone fallback from being set to 100 %. v0.1.5 states both Rules (Default + Mobile Override) into per-instance <style> Without `inline-width` — The media query now works as expected when the viewport is narrower than the user's screen width.

  • Responsiveness Fix: On viewports narrower than the configured iframe width (e.g., a smartphone with a set width of 600 px), the iframe now fills the available width of the container instead of overflowing horizontally.   • Auto-Update Fix: The plugin activates the shared license the first time admin_init automatically against the EDD Store (edd_action=activate_license with home_url()). Without this activation, EDD-SL returned an HTTP 401 error ("Update package not available") when attempting to update. Idempotent: Re-activates only when the URL changes or after 30 days.

  • Bug fix: The iframe was in display: flex-Containers (e.g., Divi Pixel Popups) have been resized to the intrinsic width of the fallback link (~320 px) instead of the configured width (e.g., 600 px). The wrapper now uses width: instead of max-width:, so that the width is propagated upward along the container chain. max-width: 100% continues to ensure responsiveness on narrow viewports.
