Paste ChatGPT text into Gmail or Outlook without Markdown symbols

You copy an answer from ChatGPT into an email and suddenly see **asterisks**, ## hash signs or links written as [text](address). Your email app is not broken. The answer is written in Markdown, a simple way to mark headings, lists, emphasis and links.

The quickest route for Gmail and Outlook

1. Open the free Markdown to HTML converter.
2. Paste the AI output into the left-hand field.
3. Check the preview and choose Copy formatted result.
4. Paste the result into Gmail, Outlook or another email app.

Your email app may adapt fonts, spacing or colours to its own design. Check tables, long lists and links before sending.

Try the simple option first

When you copy the visibly formatted answer, Gmail or Outlook will often preserve it. Your app may also offer paste options such as keeping or merging the original formatting. Use the converter when you only have raw Markdown, visible symbols come across, or you need a predictable cleaned result. For plain prose, pasting as plain text may be better.

What happens to your text?

Does this work with Claude or Gemini?

Yes. The provider does not matter; the copied text simply needs to contain Markdown.

Do I need to understand HTML?

No. For email, use “Copy formatted result”. The HTML view is for websites, newsletter editors and CMSs.
