EDD Docs Gateway
EDD Docs Gateway puts your product documentation where customers are looking for it: directly in the customer area of your Easy Digital Downloads store. You connect an EDD download to a GitHub wiki, synchronize the Markdown pages to WordPress and publish protected documentation URLs such as /docs/product-slug/installation/.
What EDD Docs Gateway is intended for
The plugin is built for providers of WordPress plugins, themes, templates, agency packages and other digital products who already maintain documentation in GitHub and do not want to rebuild it manually in the store.
- A place for customers: Purchase, download, license and documentation are in the same store.
- No GitHub access required: Private repositories also remain private while customers read the documentation in WordPress.
- Fewer support queries: Setup, FAQ and known solutions are linked directly to the product.
How it works
- The product documentation is activated in the EDD download.
- You enter the GitHub repository and the Docs slug.
- EDD Docs Gateway synchronizes the GitHub wiki into local WordPress sites.
- Customers only see the documentation if they are logged in and have access to the assigned download.

Prerequisites
- WordPress 6.5 or newer.
- PHP 7.4 or newer.
- Easy Digital Downloads.
- A GitHub repository with activated wiki.

License and updates
The annual license costs 20 EUR plus VAT. and applies to one domain. With an active license key, you receive automatic updates directly in the WordPress backend via EDD Software Licensing.
