As the airport „Ras Al Khaimah” was also being served from February 2016, this microsite project was intended to promote the new Qatar Airways flight route. As part of the marketing team's bid research, I was given the opportunity to place a bid and won the contract. Qatar Airways wanted a modern, contemporary design: a website that enchants with beautiful photos of the dream destination in the Arab Emirates and is informative at the same time. The website was created in close consultation and coordination with the marketing team in Germany, the head office in Doha and the QA IT department. In addition to the web programming and theme customization, a server was also to be installed and set up specifically for this project. Thanks to the trusting cooperation, they relied completely on my expertise and I selected the right hosting provider and server and installed a setup specially optimized for WordPress. Tasks Web design & conception in coordination with QA Theme Integration HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript Responsive web design - adapts to the screen size and enables, for example, an optimal display on smartphones Integration of a booking widget Competition form with double opt-in, as well as the integrated possibility to subscribe to a newsletter (also with double opt-in) Cronjob for various individual functionalities in relation to the competition Search engine optimization Web 2.0: Setup, design and population of profile pages on Facebook, Google+, Twitter and Pinterest. Server installation and setup: LEMP stack with the following configuration Linux: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Web server: nginx 1.8.0 Database: Maria DB 10.1.11 PHP 5.6.17-3 SSL with Qualys Labs A+ configuration for various https protected connections Mail server installation and configuration (Postfix, Dovecot, Sieve, DKIM configuration, SPF entry) Individual service and maintenance contract (website and server) The Ras Al Khaimah campaign has ended. Therefore the microsite is no longer live.
